
 
The Birches at Arbour Square Hosts Ribbon Cutting Reception to Celebrate Opening
A ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception was held at The Birches at Arbour Square, for local business and community officials on March 26th.
Guest speakers will include Tom Foley, the chief executive officer of The American Red Cross; Claire Day, program director of the Alzheimer’s Association; and Doug Gifford, chairman of the Lower Salford Township board of supervisors.
A grand opening for the public will be held on April 4 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., during which tours of the community will be conducted.
The Birches is located on the same campus with Arbour Square at Harleysville, an independent-living community at 695 Main St. “Together the two communities will provide a continuum of care for residents as their needs change,” said Ken Williams, the executive director of The Birches.
The new community has 69 units with a total of 75 beds, of which 19 units and 25 beds are designated for memory-care residents. The separate memory-care facility is equipped with its own dining room, country kitchen, activity rooms and outdoor patio.
Assisted-living residents will enjoy a variety of amenities, such as movie theater, a barber shop and beauty salon, a library, a bistro and a lounge equipped with a fireplace.
The Birches also will be help the local economy by providing 40 full- and part-time jobs. Both The Birches and Arbour Square are locally owned and operated. They are managed by Heritage Senior Living, LLC, Blue Bell.
